MichPub is a minimalist, local-first EPUB and PDF reader developed by Vinícius Michelutti. We designed MichPub to keep your reading private.
1. What we collect
The MichPub app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. It has no user accounts, no sign-up, no advertising, and no tracking or telemetry of any kind.
This website (michpub.com) uses privacy-first, cookieless analytics — Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami — to understand aggregate traffic such as page views and referrers. These services do not use cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not collect personal information. No analytics run inside the app itself.
2. Your data stays on your device
Your library, book files, reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, notes, and app settings are stored locally on your device only. This data is never uploaded to us or to any third party, and we have no access to it.
3. Translation feature (optional)
If you choose to translate selected text, that selected text is sent to Google Translate solely to return a translation to you. This happens only when you actively use the translate feature. Such requests are handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. If you do not use the translate feature, no text is ever sent off your device.
4. External links
MichPub may open links in your default web browser (for example, a link to support the developer). Once you leave the app, the privacy practices of the destination website apply.
5. Children's privacy
MichPub does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
6. Data security
Because your data never leaves your device, its security is governed by your own device and operating system protections.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
